Job description

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for the service, calibration, installation and testing of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Job Duties:

-Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
-Assists with installation of new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
-Effectively troubleshoot electrical, instrument and mechanical problems in the field.
-Understand, execute and follow all life critical procedures in the execution of maintenance activities.
-Assist with LAN troubleshooting as required
-Repairs, installs and services all plant equipment
-Executes all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant operations
-Tests all work for proper operation prior to turnover to production.
-Provides feedback to supervision pertaining to out of calibration instrumentation and any abnormal equipment observations
-Maintains a clean, organized shop and clean design practices during day to day work activities.
-Follows planning/ scheduling protocols for the completion and documentation of work order status
-Supports Cares/Behavior Based Safety (BBS) process by performing observations
-Supports Loss Control policy, AIMS, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems.


Maintains proficiencies in the following areas:

-General mechanical
-Piping threading and fitting
-Rotating equipment rebuilding and alignment (mechanical seals, bearings and couplings)
-Electrical power, conduit and electrical wiring installation (hazardous and non-hazardous)
-General instrumentation electronic and pneumatic.
-General troubleshooting.
-Reading

and understanding PIDs, electrical prints and equipment drawings.
-May be required to complete formal training in area of specialty.


Qualifications:

-HS Diploma with 5 years experience in the HVAC field
-Demonstrated understanding of a variety of HVAC concepts, practices, and procedures.
-Refrigerant certified universal technician (40CFR para 82, sub para F).
-Ability to troubleshoot and repair boilers, analyze and adjust boiler controls, keep detailed logs of boiler operation, follow safety regulations and ensure boiler meets efficiency standards.
-Licenses to add biocides to cooling towers and pesticides spraying (7A F, G categories certified) preferred
-Basic skills in MS Office; knowledge of SAP preferred
-Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to carry and to lift overhead.
-Must be able to wear a respirator and enter confined spaces
