Overview of the Department/Section

Tier 1 Sanction Screening of all payments and employees.

Main Purpose of the Role

As a member of the Compliance Department, you will contribute to:

  • Providing high-quality, proactive support to business activities, ensuring the firm operates ethically and expands its business footprint. Liaising with regulators to promote understanding of controls and governance.
  • Ensuring processes are efficient and reliable, supporting business growth and control procedures. Developing and integrating these processes within the BTMU framework to deliver a top-tier EMEA team.
  • Delivering risk-based assurance to senior management and the Group through independent challenge and quality reporting.
  • Maintaining the legal entity integrity of both Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating conflicts of interest as necessary.

  • Responsible for initial screening of payments flagged as sanctions risks via internal systems.
  • Escalating potential matches to Tier 2 Escalations.
  • Screening of the Bank’s employees and handling operational queries related to sanctions screening systems.
