As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Prime Finance Services, you will be a key member of an agile team designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your responsibilities include executing critical technology solutions across various technical areas to support the firm’s business objectives.

In our Prime Finance Technology Group, we value individuals passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You will apply your expertise throughout the software development lifecycle and collaborate daily with stakeholders to achieve common goals. The team is transforming the equity financing platform, working on projects involving Kafka, AMPS, Java, KDB+/q, and React.

Based in London, NY, Mumbai, Bangalore, Singapore, and Hong Kong, our fast-paced team offers a supportive environment for growth and skill development under industry-experienced mentors.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and execute software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches.
  2. Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms synchronously with systems.
  3. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
  4. Analyze large, diverse data sets to develop visualizations and reports for continuous software improvement.
  5. Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture.
  6. Contribute to communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
  7. Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in Java/Spring framework.
  • Experience with KDB+/q, including building and performance tuning of real-time subscriber, tickerplant, HDB.
  • Development, debugging, and maintenance of code in large corporate environments using modern programming and database querying languages.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Familiarity with software applications and technical processes in disciplines like cloud, AI, ML, mobile, etc.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • UI development experience with C#, React JS.
  • Experience with cloud deployment and design concerns.
  • Knowledge of real-time processing and delivery systems such as Kafka, AMPS, FIX protocol.
  • Understanding of Prime business areas, especially Equity Finance – Locate and Positions Management.
