Job description

Shield Veterinary Centre is looking for a veterinary surgeon to join their team, working across their two branch practice in Bishops Waltham & Hedge End situated between Portsmouth and Southampton.

We are located close to the coast and the New Forest but also have easy access on the train to London.

You will be working on various caseloads whilst utilising your medical and surgical skills. There is scope to develop your own interests in your own niche area of expertise.

Fix or flex – find your perfect balance

Ideally working 40 hours a week across 4 days per week with a fixed day off each week, 2:5 Saturday mornings (8:00am-12:00pm). We can consider part-time and flexible working. We use Vets Now for our out-of-hours.

Join our team with a focus on professional development

We are a well-established small animal practice spread across 2 branches. We have vets from new graduate level to 30+ years qualified, many who have worked for Shield Vets for over 15 years. With the nursing and reception team, we are one big family! We are well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography and Idexx laboratory machines (Catalyst and Procyte) and we have two consulting rooms at each site as well as dedicated theatres.

You will be joining our supportive team of experienced Vets, RVNs and supporting team members. Sharing all our knowledge is something we love to do, and your opinion and input matter to us. We live and breathe by our unique team approach, and we thrive with that ethos. Overall, we are looking for someone who takes joy in coming to work and offering excellent patient care, utilising fear-free techniques.
