Join the MLA Move Language Ahead team as a Doctor or Nurse and be a key part of ensuring the health and safety of international students during their summer adventure. This full-time, seasonal position runs from mid-June to mid-August, during which you'll be the first point of contact for medical concerns, ensuring students’ well-being both at the centre and on exciting excursions. You'll work closely with the Centre Director, Activity Leaders, and other key staff to ensure that our students are safe, healthy, and ready to fully experience all that our programme has to offer.
Your primary role will be to assess, treat, and monitor any health concerns, handle medication administration, and provide first aid support when needed. You’ll be responsible for maintaining medical records and ensuring that all students’ health needs are addressed promptly and professionally. In this busy and varied role, flexibility and a caring attitude are essential.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Full-time summer role available from mid-June to mid-August
Responsible for student health and medical care during excursions and at the centre
Reports to the Centre Director
6 working days per week (on a rota system, up to 44 hours per week)
1 day off per week

REQUIRED SKILLS
Qualified Doctor (GMC-registered) or Registered Nurse (NMC-registered) in the UK
Right to work in the UK
Experience in first aid and administering medication
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies calmly
Flexibility and adaptability
Teamwork and a passion for working with youth
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working with children or in a school/camp environment
A First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols

KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed
Oversee the safe handling and administration of medications
Maintain accurate medical records for students and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Assist with medical care on excursions and ensure proper safety measures are followed
Respond to any health concerns and escalate issues when necessary
Support the safeguarding and well-being of students throughout the programme
COMPENSATION
Per Hour: GBP 17.50 (Non-residential)
Residential: Weekly salary GBP 600.00 (with housing deduction of GBP 9.10 per day)
Holiday Pay (12.07%) to be added to weekly pay
