About the team

As an Offensive Security Engineer at Tide, you’ll join the Threat Detection and Response team—a highly motivated and talented group of Tideans who love to collaborate and are driven by helping people achieve their business ambitions. About the role

As an Offensive Security Engineer, you will be:

• Reviewing web/mobile applications, source code, operating systems, and network security architectures; identifying vulnerabilities and defining effective strategies for remediation and hardening.
• Identifying gaps in controls and vulnerabilities in our Cloud infrastructure, including containerized environments and GitOps deployment pipelines.
• Thinking critically to identify areas of technical and non-technical risk.
• Researching and developing tools, techniques, and exploits specific to Tide.
• Assisting with triaging and validating external security submissions as required.
• Communicating findings and remediation actions effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Coaching engineers across Security and broader technical teams in offensive security principles and practices.
• Partnering with internal security and engineering teams on collaborative engagements to uncover vulnerability and detection opportunities across systems.
• Identifying weaknesses in product security controls, including vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and procedural gaps.
• Working with Tide engineering teams to plan and scope internal/external penetration testing.
• Supporting Incident Response with a red team approach.

What we are looking for

• A passion for security and secure application design, with a love for helping engineers create more secure web and mobile applications.
• Ability to explain security issues to product owners, engineers, VPs, and executives, and derive satisfaction from resulting in more resilient products.
• Experience working within the Fintech or tech sectors.
• Experience in fast-scaling businesses.
• Experience in attack simulation and vulnerability research.
• Proficiency in writing tooling in Python, Java, Go, etc.
• Strong experience in security assessments of:
• Mobile/web applications and APIs.
• Mac/Windows systems.
• Exposure to LLM testing.
