Job description

Introduction

Our client is a large consultancy company working with the Government and Defence sectors on technology projects. They are seeking several Business Analysts on a permanent basis to ensure optimized performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business as they expand their projects and programmes within the Defence and Government sectors.

Requirements: Candidates must have Defence/National Security experience.

Working Patterns: This role is hybrid, with 2-3 days per week on-site, and candidates must be prepared to travel up to 4 days per week across the UK if required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with clients within Defence and National Security to capture and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs and objectives.
  2. Perform detailed analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  3. Facilitate workshops and interviews to gather requirements, user stories, and use cases.
  4. Analyse and document business processes, workflows, and system interactions to align with business goals.
  5. Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
  6. Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform business decisions and process improvements.
  7. Define and implement product-centric operating models.
  8. Manage product ownership practices to ensure developed products meet customer requirements.
  9. Conduct impact assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate solutions and identify risks.
  10. Support testing and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  11. Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Defence, Government, or National Security sectors.
  2. Track record of delivering business requirements in project delivery environments.
  3. Strong analytical skills related to technology.
  4. Experience with process modeling, lean practices, use case development, and requirements elicitation.
  5. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe 5.0, LeSS.
  6. Consulting experience is advantageous.
  7. Knowledge of analytical tools like PowerBI, Tableau, QlikSense.
  8. Expertise in testing against requirements to ensure confidence in outputs.
