Rolls-Royce Submarines is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Producibility - Submarines for a full-time position in Derby. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, manufacture, supply, and support of nuclear propulsion systems for the Royal Navy's submarine fleet.

About the Role

As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, you will influence new designs using NPI tools to ensure manufacturability, improve existing designs, and develop world-class processes that meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Execute Manufacturing Product Introduction activities, designing methods of manufacture and process steps.
  2. Apply DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge to influence product definition and final form manufacture.
  3. Create and validate Production Technical Instructions to meet design intent and customer requirements.
  4. Act as the manufacturing technical authority, managing first-offs, new parts, resequencing, and tooling.
  5. Represent manufacturing engineering within cross-functional teams for assigned parts.
Candidate Profile

  • Experience with fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, or critical components.
  • A degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field, with relevant manufacturing/process engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
