Job description

Location: Preston, Lancashire (covering areas within a 50-mile radius)
Salary: £25,029 - £26,997 per annum (qualification dependent)
Hours: 35 per week excluding travel (Mon-Sat, 9-5, occasional evenings)
Contract: Permanent
Driving: Full UK driving licence and vehicle (mileage reimbursed)

Are you an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills? Join our team as a First Aid Trainer and deliver high-quality first aid courses. With over 30 years of experience, ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, and Investors in People Gold standard, the British Red Cross offers a superior learning experience. You will play a vital role in providing customer-focused training using diverse techniques to accommodate all learning styles, supported by comprehensive training and ongoing support. What will a day in the life of a First Aid Trainer involve?
  1. Conducting first aid training and specialist courses, equipping people with essential life-saving skills.
  2. Teaching the right action to take in different situations, for example when people may be unresponsive or have suffered burns.
  3. Supporting people with their confidence to provide potentially lifesaving support in an emergency.
  4. Travelling to training venues throughout Lancashire and the surrounding areas.
What will you need to be a successful First Aid Trainer?
  1. A natural communicator with a confident, engaging personality who thrives when speaking in front of groups.
  2. Live within the Preston area.
  3. Have a strong aptitude for actively listening, solving problems, debating ideas, and providing constructive feedback.
  4. Possess a Training or Teaching qualification, or have a willingness to work towards one.
  5. Comfortable working independently and traveling to various training locations using your own vehicle (travel time given back).
  6. Experience in preparing and delivering a range of training courses, with assertiveness in presenting to mixed ability groups.

The closing date for applications is 23.59 on 12th May 2025. Interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing 19th May via Teams.
