Manager, Commercial Advisory and Assurance (Major Projects Advisory) - Construction

Base Location: London, Manchester and Birmingham, plus a network of 20 offices nationwide.

The KPMG Major Projects Advisory Team sits within the Infrastructure Advisory Group and is part of our Deal Advisory function. Deal Advisory partners with clients to give them the confidence they need to make key decisions for their businesses. The team supports clients in identifying areas of value addition, including strategy, integration, separation, value creation, or mergers and acquisitions.

What will you be doing?

We focus on providing clarity to Boards, Executives, and SROs at major public and private sector organizations regarding project and program delivery. Our team comprises specialists with deep construction industry experience, from working for project owners, contractors, engineering consultants, and others in the UK and overseas. Due to ongoing growth, we are investing in our team, making this an exciting time to join.

What will you need to do it?

You should have experience in construction or infrastructure projects, possibly from fields such as accounting, audit, commercial management, quantity surveying, project controls, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related assurance role within a client or public sector organization. Experience on-site or in advisory roles is valuable.

The role requires:

  • A good understanding of cost drivers on construction projects
  • An understanding of issues impacting project performance
  • Client or senior stakeholder-facing experience
  • Experience in writing and reviewing assurance documents
  • Experience working in political and confidential environments
  • Experience managing junior colleagues
  • Ability to assess new situations quickly and identify causal factors
