Job description

HARDWARE / ELECTRONICS ENGINEER - CONTRACT 12 MONTHS - ROCHESTER KENT


As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to formulate and optimise innovative hardware engineering solutions, for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety-critical technology.


AT THE COAL FACE TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Executing complex hardware design tasks in accordance with the hardware development plan, whilst meeting agreed timescales and allocated budgets.
  2. Conducting hardware requirements capture, preliminary design, detailed design including a range of analysis tasks.
  3. Adopting an innovative approach to design and identifying improvements to working practices.
  4. Working with other disciplines within an integrated team to optimise solutions and minimise impacts from dependencies.
  5. Providing technical guidance and support to the development and delivery of all aspects of digital &/or analogue electronics solutions.
  6. Delivering design artefacts in accordance with company and industry standards.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU / PROVEN / ABILITY SKILLS

  1. Proven ability in digital &/or analogue electronics technologies.
  2. Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise.
  3. Analogue simulations tools, e.g. Simetrix or Spice.
  4. Timing designer tools, e.g. Chronology.
  5. Signal integrity tools and principles.
  6. System development tools, e.g. Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink.
  7. Requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS.
  8. Proven ability working on safety critical systems.
  9. Working through the full engineering development lifecycle, from concept to product certification.
  10. Ability to demonstrate a good appreciation of cost and schedule constraints on designs, to meet programme needs.
  11. Capable of providing robust engineering judgement in all phases of the engineering development lifecycle.
  12. Robust understanding of product design and work package control.
