Apprenticeship/Trainee Accountant

Our fantastic, well-established accountancy practice has the most amazing opportunity for someone to start their accounting journey.

They are seeking an enthusiastic A-Level student or university graduate who are keen to study on their AAT/ACA apprenticeship programme.

Job Title: Accounts Trainee

Location: Dorking, Surrey (office based)

Hours: 9-5pm

Role Objective: Undertaking accounting and auditing work as delegated by the Manager/s, preparation of working papers, administrative tasks and other duties as may be required.

SUMMARY OF KEY AREAS/MAIN DUTIES

Financial Accounting

1. Recording financial transactions;
2. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements;
3. Assisting in the preparation of budgets, profit and cash flow forecasts;

Auditing

1. Company audit and other external audit including:

• Preparing and recording audit work;
• Gathering audit evidence;
• Considering financial statements under supervision.

Taxation

1. PAYE, NIC, and VAT including:
2. Analysis of income, expenditure and other relevant data as required;
3. Assisting with the preparation of Returns and administration of PAYE, NIC, VAT and other excise duties as required;
4. Assisting in carrying out fiscal valuations.

Client Liaison

1. Assisting with audit procedures at client's premises;
2. Liaison with client's staff.

Administrative Duties

1. Drafting relevant correspondence;
2. Maintenance of files;

Other

1. Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Apprenticeship AAT Salary - £18-19k plus discretionary bonus for the 1st year (salary increased after year 1)

Apprenticeship ACA Salary - £19.5-21k plus discretionary bonus for the 1st year (salary increased after year 1)
