Job description

Leader Education are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work at a SEND school in Prudhoe, Northumberland. The ideal HLTA will have experience in working with young people with SEND needs and experience of working 1-2-1 delivering interventions, supporting in a classroom environment as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.

At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3.30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Have effective behaviour management strategies
  • Have a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Qualification
  • Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's
  • Have previous experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting
