Pastoral HLTA – Thatcham, West Berkshire

Full Time, SEN Provision

Have you got previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar? Are you looking for a role with more seniority or responsibility, supporting children with additional needs?

Position Details:
* Full Time position
* SEMH Focus
* Thatcham
* 8:30 – 3:30
* £85-£110 daily rate

Responsibilities:

  1. Implementing student safeguarding and welfare policies
  2. Assessing, reporting and giving feedback regarding students’ needs and progress
  3. Monitoring pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the school day
  4. Collaborating with SLT to ensure high quality personal care of the students
  5. Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development
  6. Working with students on a 1:1 and group basis on education programmes
  7. Cooperating with colleagues, professionals and parents with education plans

This role would be well suited to anyone currently working within a school that is looking to progress in their career. The Pastoral HLTA position brings the extra responsibility of:

  1. Providing pastoral support to support children with SEMH needs
  2. Delivering interventions and behaviour management strategies
  3. Understanding and assisting the Class teacher’s curriculum and enrichment to plan, prepare and implement different activities
  4. Collaborating with SENCO to tailor students’ education to their individual needs
  5. Mentoring and providing role model guidance to new staff and less experienced TAs
  6. Opportunities for professional development and career appraisals
