Job description

IT Support Engineer – Surbiton, Surrey - £45,000

A highly successful and rapidly growing global business is looking for an IT Support Engineer with 1st and 2nd Line Support experience to join their IT team. This IT Support Engineer role is a hands-on position where support is often provided face-to-face, over Teams, or on the phone. It suits a personable, friendly, customer-focused IT Support Engineer, IT Support Analyst, 2nd Line Engineer, or Desktop Support Engineer. In addition to BAU support, there will be interesting project work involved.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing telephone and email support for internal users
  2. Software installation, desktop imaging, software inventory, and monitoring
  3. Configuration and installation of physical and virtual servers
  4. Administration and configuration of Cisco networking devices (Switches / Firewalls)
  5. Backup administration
  6. Logging problems accurately within the Helpdesk system, resolving promptly, or escalating where appropriate
  7. Assisting with projects of all sizes, including technology infrastructure and software projects
  8. Managing and ensuring the efficient handling of support requests
  9. Participating in meetings and system demonstrations
