This role requires you to be a driver.

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Easingwold.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their lives.

Do you love to be beside the seaside? Is snuggling down and watching a film your idea of a good night in? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then you're just who we're looking for to become a support worker at one of our registered services. We are looking to grow our team of dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic support workers to enable five individuals we support to live the lives they choose.

If you're supporting someone who enjoys activities, then perhaps our 1:1 support service is for you, where you'll support a young man with a different activity each week—be it football, swimming, or making the most of his National Trust tickets. This gentleman has endless energy and a real passion for fun; the support worker will need to match or surpass his enthusiasm.

If you want to support individuals with the life skills they need to live independently, we have a service for you too. Supporting our lovely ladies in their homes, you'll be with them throughout their day—helping in the kitchen, supporting them out for coffee, and making sure milk is bought on the way home. Small acts can mean a lot to someone striving for independence.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

This role requires you to be a driver.

Contract Options

  • Full-time: 37.5 hrs

Shift Times

All our services are 24-hour care. We prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your personal and social life.

  • Day shifts start from 7:00 am or 9:00 am and finish between 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm, usually split into 2 shifts. Some services also have sleep-in or waking night shifts.
  • All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
