Job description

An accountancy firm based in Halifax are recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant to join their established accounts team on a full time, permanent basis. The firm have a number of offices in the area and the successful candidate will be based predominantly from the Halifax office but must be happy to commute to local clients and dual site from the Bradford office too. This is a great opportunity for a Semi Senior looking for a step up or an experienced Senior looking to take on a portfolio of clients.


Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview
  1. Production of accounts and other financial statements efficiently and profitably
  2. Preparation of working papers to acceptable standards and internal systems
  3. Production of accounts and other financial statements via computer programs and manual systems
  4. Preparing statutory accounts for Charities.
  5. Preparing statutory accounts
  6. Liaising directly with clients where applicable
  7. Preparation of draft tax computations, invoice and draft accounts letter for sending to clients
  8. Updating internal production record systems
  9. Audit experience would be a great advantage but not a necessity
  10. Attendance at client premises for stocktaking - out of normal hours as required
  11. Bookkeeping and VAT Return checks to client records including submission of VAT returns to HMRC
  12. Recommending client record keeping improvements
  13. Training and mentoring junior Team Members
  14. Total client care
  15. Accurate time recording of work performed
  16. Arrange review meeting with partner in charge
  17. Ad hoc tasks as required to meet the needs of the business

Semi Senior Accountant Job Requirements
  1. AAT qualified, ACCA part qualified or ACCA qualified - generous study support package available!
  2. A driver with your own vehicle
  3. 3 years + experience in a UK accountancy firm

Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits
  1. £32,000 - £35,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience
  2. This is an office based role 09.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday
  3. 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service for each FY, up to 5 days)
  4. Parking on site
