Join us as a Web Software Engineer

• This is an opportunity for a technically minded individual to join us as a Web Software Engineer
• You’ll be designing, producing, testing and implementing working software, working across the lifecycle of the system
• Hone your existing software engineering skills and advance your career in this critical role
• You’ll work from home some of the time, but you’ll also spend at least one day a week working from our Bristol or Manchester office

What you'll do

Working in a permanent feature team, you’ll develop knowledge of the platform across business, applications, data, and infrastructure. You’ll liaise with principal engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders to understand how the platform supports business objectives.

You’ll also be:

• Applying Agile methods to software development
• Producing resilient, long-lasting software and adapting to future needs
• Delivering architecture and emergent design through innovation, experimentation, and prototyping
• Designing and developing software focused on automation of build, test, and deployment activities

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with strong full-stack experience, capable of solving complex problems using programming languages. Experience with Web development, build tools like WebPack, Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and testing tools such as Jest and Cypress is essential.

You should also demonstrate:

• Good collaboration skills with business teams
• Knowledge of information security policies, especially in the financial sector
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience creating reusable component libraries
• Experience with Git, bug tracking tools, Docker, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
• Expertise in Semantic HTML, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6)
• Proven ability to build high-performance web interfaces and complex web applications
