Job Summary

Salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours. This position is temporary.

An opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Assistant at Auchinairn Earl Years Centre.

The post is 10 hours per week, worked on Thursday and Friday, with the work pattern to be agreed with the Head of Centre.

Responsibilities include a variety of clerical duties such as word processing, maintaining early year's records for pupils and staff, handling telephone and reception duties, distributing mail, dealing with pupil enquiries, and attending to pupils' welfare needs.

Essential skills include excellent organisational and IT skills. Experience working in a school or early years office is preferable. The ability to work as part of a team and handle a range of tasks is important.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks follow specific criteria:

  • For Regulated Roles under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed.
  • Candidates will bear the cost of the check, which will be deducted from the first salary payment. In some cases, deductions may be made in installments after employment begins, subject to approval.
  • If an employee leaves before full deduction, the remaining amount will be deducted from the final salary.
