Are you a driven, high calibre, talented and ambitious sales professional with experience in promoting interior products, ideally with a strong and stable background in luxury/high-end bathroom, spa, sanitaryware or closely aligned interior products? Do you have a strong understanding and/or network of connections and relationships with luxury KBB retailers/showrooms, along with small, medium, large, and boutique architect & interior design practices specializing in luxury residential projects and working closely with high net worth individuals?

If so, we are working with a highly design-led, disruptive, and ambitious manufacturer of luxury sanitaryware solutions who are seeking to recruit an experienced BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to join their team with responsibility for promoting their products in the required area of specialization.

The Role

  1. Due to aggressive growth and expansion, my client’s specialist Retail & Consumer Specification division is now seeking an experienced BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to join their team.
  2. The candidate will need to have a proven track record in dealing with high-end showrooms and partners within the bathroom and kitchen sector, selling industry-related products.
  3. A critical part of the role requires a record of previous success and experience working with interior designers and architects that specialize in boutique residential projects.
  4. There is a major link between working with this type of specifier and the route to market involving KBB retailers and showrooms.
  5. The main focus of this position is to support their retail/distribution business by developing current partner relationships, securing displays, stock deals, and obtaining specifications with the retailers, while gaining specifications with the A&D community and creating an opportunity pipeline for our business.
  6. Success will be measured on the increase of sales for all product types available through the business.
  7. There is also plenty of scope to open new showrooms as they look to further enhance their database due to the expansion of their portfolio.
  8. Working with the rest of our team, you shall look to increase our level of consumer opportunities as they continue to create added awareness within the A&D community.
  9. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing first-class relationships within the A&D community, resulting in consumer opportunity specifications and orders.

Responsibilities

  1. Retail sales, achievement of annual order entry target.
  2. The sales of the company’s group-related products.
  3. Visiting and developing relationships with current retail partners and opening accounts as applicable.
  4. Visiting and securing specifications with architects and interior designers.
  5. Finding new business via showrooms and through specification work to create a growing opportunity pipeline.
  6. Make presentations and hold CPD seminars in digital and face-to-face formats as applicable.
  7. Create collaborations between A&D sector and approved partners.
  8. Proactively manage CRM system as an essential business development tool.
  9. Create specifications/generate quotations.
  10. Attend exhibitions, networking events, and associated fairs.
  11. Follow up on all sales leads and new business areas/sectors.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  1. Self-motivated individual who can work well either on their own or in a team.
  2. Background in mid to high-end sanitaryware, bathrooms, kitchens, spas, showers, or very closely aligned interior products and solutions.
  3. Ability to manage own area and introduce tailored customer solutions to drive sales forward.
  4. Proven track record and a proactive approach to solution selling, with strong existing relationships and understanding of the luxury retail and consumer specification marketplace.
  5. Enjoy selling premium aesthetically oriented products.
  6. Competent IT skills are required – MS Office, Word, Outlook, etc.
  7. Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to problem-solving.
  8. Ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
  9. Sound commercial acumen and ability to communicate with colleagues and customers to assist in identifying and closing sales opportunities.
  10. A high degree of professionalism and an exceptional understanding of the specification design process.
  11. Ability to prioritize work according to demand and work alongside colleagues internally and externally to deliver customer service excellence.

SALARY & BENEFITS
