Our Visitor Attraction site at Lisvane and Llanishen opened in 2023, in the North of Cardiff, and is open all year round! This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to join Welsh Water. The site boasts a state-of-the-art Visitor Attraction building with a 150-cover restaurant, balcony with views over both reservoirs, group and cubicle changing rooms, land and water-based activities, education learning space, bird hides & islands, meeting rooms, and a Grab & Go.

What you’ll be responsible for

We understand that working in the kitchen can be demanding. Our team enjoys their work and excels because they create memorable food experiences for our guests. Our kitchen is a lively place where teamwork and a positive attitude are key. We welcome candidates with some basic kitchen experience and offer full training for the right individuals.

Duties include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving meals, managing team members to ensure high-quality service
  • Creating and designing menus to maximize gross margin
  • Supervising and training colleagues to ensure excellent customer service
  • Ensuring safety of all persons on site
  • Ordering kitchen supplies from designated suppliers
  • Maintaining kitchen HACCP records to standard
  • Developing and improving the customer experience
  • Upholding food hygiene standards and kitchen cleanliness according to Welsh Water procedures
  • Engaging with customers as an ambassador of Welsh Water

About you

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience in commercial catering and kitchen supervision
  • Practical health & safety and food safety knowledge
  • Catering/Retail customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team
