We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as the Business Development Director. You will playa vital role in driving forwards Who Cares? Scotland’s vision by leading the development of strategicpartnerships and securing key funding opportunities. As manager for the Fundraising and Partnerships Team, youwill oversee grants, trusts, community fundraising, public tenders, and the setting of income targets. Byforging strong relationships with corporate and external stakeholders, as well as overseeing our strategicaffiliation with the John Lewis Partnership, your role will expand our public education, income generation, andbusiness development aims. To interweave the organisation’s development of public education training programmeswith our core fundraising mission, you will also manage our Creating Communities that Care team, who play avital role in developing our external training offerings.

As an individual with a background of 5+ years in senior management, preferably in the non-profit sector, you havedemonstrable experience in business development, fundraising, and grant writing. You possess a proven trackrecord of successfully securing high-value grants and partnerships from diverse funding sources, leading on thedevelopment of strategic plans, and reaching key performance targets with accountability to diversestakeholders. As a seasoned manager and mentor, you can also collaborate across organisations, fostering aculture of innovation and continuous improvement amongst your colleagues, our volunteers, and our partnerorganisations. The right candidate for this post will not only bear responsibility for leading core fundingstrategy, but also serve as a spokesperson for the organisation, representing its mission, values, and impact toexternal stakeholders. You are, therefore, committed to child rights and human rights, the successfulimplementation of The Promise, and the belief that young people can make transformative change happen in theirlives if given the opportunity.

We have office locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paisley, Bellshill, Kilmarnock, and Dundee. There is an expectationthat the post holder will also have a regular presence within the National Office in Glasgow, but home workingis offered as part of our commitment to flexible working. Given the remit of the role, some evening and weekendwork will be necessary, to attend fundraising and member events, as well as Board Meetings.

Your new opportunity

Quarriers have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Business Development & Grants to work in partnershipwith our Associate Directors and Operational Managers to identify opportunities and develop new and existingservices. You will manage and work closely with the Business Development & Grants team leading andimplementing development strategies to support growth and funding for the overall organisation. You will play akey part in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and overseeing tender and funding opportunitiesincluding submissions.

As the Head of Business Development & Grants you will closely monitor and track potential tender opportunitiesincluding managing a portfolio of grants and funding aligned with department income and expenditure againstbudget and set targeted income.

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday) in line with our agile working policy,which blends home-working with office time and service visits.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Proven experience and understanding of implementing and managing business development strategies ideally withinthe social care/healthcare sector.
  • An understanding of social care/healthcare servicedesign.
  • Skills in managing risk and business development with an understanding of the Grant fundinglandscape and innovative practice.
  • Excellent IT knowledge and experience in using databasesystems.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience at a senior level in a complexorganisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills to support strictdeadlines and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience ofmanaging a team and delivering positive results.
  • Driving licence is essential

The Role

The General Manager is a key leadership role entrusted in guiding the organisation, and driving momentum to achievesustainability and growth. They play a central role in coordinating and managing all activity in theorganisation. Reporting directly to the board of directors, the postholder is responsible for providing insightand strategic direction across all areas of the business.

The General Manager will motivate teams and ensure all have clarity on the vision and strategic path. The role iscrucial in creating consistency and efficiency across all areas of the organisation. The post will directlymanage the Retail supervisor, Operations manager, Events coordinator and the Community Engagement Officer. Thekey objective is to coach and develop all team members to deliver on outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager to lead a large, creative and vibrant team. Our Servicedelivers a number of diverse supports alongside children and families. Our activities include Whole FamilySupport alongside our Social Work Colleagues creating alternative plans to support children growing up wherethey are safe and loved, and Perinatal Mental Health Support for new parents across Moray. Our activity includesboth early help and more intensive supports, all based on quality relationships with children and families.

We are looking for a resilient Service Manager who can be a strong leader across the service and organisation.Someone who thinks operationally but understands the big picture too. We need a leader who is in touch with theneeds of children, young people and their families who require support and passionate about their rights. Weseek a dynamic manager who can build on the service strengths and create the agile and flexible service childrenand families need.

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our leadership team within Glasgow. In this position you will play a crucialrole in the on-going learning and development of the service and contribute to how we continue to best meet theneeds of families across the city. Building relationships and the ability to communicate effectively internallyas well as with external partners and agencies is at the heart of everything you will do.

You should have experience of working in a leadership capacity; of offering reflective support and/or supervision toa team of staff/students/volunteers and able to confidently respond to and manage risk.

Families are facing increasing challenges which makes this is a demanding role requiring tenacity, commitment andflexibility. No two days are the same!

If you have a passion for working alongside families, have experience of keeping children safe, are committed torestorative approaches, and have a professional qualification in a relevant area such as Social Work, Teachingor equivalent in Child Care/Social Care or related area, accredited counselling qualification, or other relevantqualification at SCQF level 9 or higher, then we want to hear from you.

Base

We currently have a community base in the Pollok area of the southside. The role involves meeting partners andfamilies across the city, in their local communities.
