Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Location: Torrington, CT

Hours: 40 Hours (Opportunity for overtime)

Pay Range: $24-36 Depending on experience.

Join our team! As a diesel mechanic, you will perform complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs on large commercial vehicles. Responsibilities include thorough preventive maintenance inspections, roadside and emergency repairs, and more. Candidates must have relevant accreditation, proven experience, and pass a background check.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
  2. Complete all required maintenance operations following schedules, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  3. Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed under the supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  4. Perform complex repairs and field tests on engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, and exhaust systems, interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  5. Provide emergency roadside services as required.
  6. Inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical defects, and document repairs accurately.
  7. Maintain tools and work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
  8. Perform other duties as required, including on-call, extended hours, or weekend work during emergencies.
  9. Occasionally drive vans, buses, or other vehicles for road tests.
Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic.
  • Accreditation from a recognized school or certification program.
  • Completion of all required training.
  • Successful passing of pre-employment background checks.
