Job description

Join Barclays as a Senior R&D Fraud Analyst where you'll lead the development of our digital security measures, driving innovation and excellence. You will be a key member of our Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre, providing scalable services to combat and prevent upstream economic crime.

To succeed as a Senior R&D Fraud Analyst, you should have:

  • Experience in financial services related to cyber fraud, financial crime, or security (web/app)
  • Knowledge of industry fraud signals, including digital identity, device, voice, biometrics, and behavioral profiling technologies
  • Understanding of malicious attack vectors such as Device Spoofing, Location Manipulation, Identity Fraud, Account Takeover, and False Documentation
  • Development skills or experience with analytical tools like Python, PHP, JavaScript, Java, relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL), SAS PROC SQL, Hue Database Assistant, Teradata, or Hadoop

Additional valued skills include:

  • Advanced knowledge of cyber attack vectors
  • Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks like NIST
  • Experience with analytical platforms such as SQL, SAS, Hue, Hive, Quantexa, Elastic Search, Tableau, Power BI
  • Technical knowledge in computing, networks, or computer science

The role may be based in Knutsford or Northampton.

Purpose of the role:

Monitor operational controls, implement security measures, and learn from incidents to protect the bank from cyber threats.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing security monitoring systems to detect and respond to cyber incidents
  2. Identifying emerging threats and attack techniques
  3. Analyzing security logs and alerts
  4. Triaging data loss prevention alerts
  5. Managing cybersecurity incidents and remediation
