JOB TITLE: External Services (Trolley Collectors)
LOCATION: Gyle Shopping Centre
REPORTING TO: Operations Manager
SHIFT PATTERN: weekends only Saturday and Sunday, 16 hours per week
Requirements

Gyle Shopping Centre is one of Edinburgh’s prestige retail outlets, benefiting from easy access from Edinburgh City Centre and surrounding areas. It offers free parking and discounts from certain retailers.

The role offers an Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 support. This position is for a Trolley Collector working 16 hours per week on weekends. Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain high standards at Gyle Shopping Centre, proactively address issues in the car park, service areas, and walkways.
  2. Assist customers and retailers when needed.
  3. Retrieve trolleys from the car park and transfer them to trolley bays.
  4. Keep trolley bays clean and free from rubbish.
  5. Perform external duties and other tasks within the car park and other areas as directed by supervisors and managers.
  6. Be flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
  7. Be knowledgeable of trolley collection tasks to support scheduled activities without needing specific instructions.
  8. Be familiar with the building layout to service required areas efficiently.
  9. Prioritize jobs based on urgency, ensuring duties are completed with quality and planning around periodic tasks.
  10. Escalate issues to supervisors and managers.
  11. Ensure the work area is clean, well-maintained, and equipment is secure.
  12. Communicate regularly with supervisors and managers for feedback on quality and service.
  13. Undertake training as necessary for role development.
  14. Achieve and demonstrate personal and professional standards within set timescales.

  1. Availability as required, including evenings and weekends.
  2. Promote a clean and safe environment, following policies and procedures.
  3. Participate in meetings as needed.
  4. Manage workload effectively without supervision.
  5. Follow health and safety procedures in line with legislation and company policies.
  6. Maintain professionalism, service quality, speed, and assurance standards.
