A leading health and social care partnership in Glasgow seeks a Nutritional Support Worker to create a welcoming kitchen environment for young residents. The role involves cooking nutritious meals and collaborating with care teams to support young people's dietary needs. Candidates must have an understanding of nutrition and be ready to maintain kitchen standards. Training in Residential Child Care Practice is required.
Role - Nutritional Support Worker (Cook) (Children Residential)
Location - GCHSCP, 30 Hinshaw Street, Glasgow, G20 7DW
Hours and Shift Pattern - 35 hours per week, see attached further breakdown of shifts

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), Children Residential Services consists of 18 houses where we provide young people with a safe and secure environment, nourish their development by meeting their emotional needs and focus on building positive relationships.
Working within one of our Children Residential Houses across Glasgow, as a Nutritional Support Worker (cook) you will be responsible for creating a culture in our kitchen that is welcoming, relaxed and fun for our young people.
You will have daily cooking duties to provide a nutritional lunch, dinner and healthy snacks for all the young people. You will work collaboratively with the Care Team to support young people's Care Plans with identified needs of support around shopping, preparing and cooking nutritional food.
A good understanding of the importance of a nutritional diet for young adults and the impacts on their health and wellbeing is preferable.
The maintenance of the kitchen will be your responsibility, including cleanliness, organisation and food storage. You will also be responsible for the purchasing of all foods and developing menus along side our young people.
You will be expected to attend training in relation to Residential Child Care Practice to ensure you are equipped with the skills and understanding of the needs of our young people.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
