Technology Team Lead

Salary Range: £49,600 - £62,000

Location: UK Hybrid, Gosforth and Glasgow

Digital Service Support (DSS), within Technical Operations and Cyber Security (TOCS), supports the bank's digital banking services, including retail and business banking, public websites, and credit cards. Our ideal candidate has a technical background (Windows Server & RHEL) and proven leadership experience in engineering teams.

What you'll be doing

1. Lead, manage, and develop a team, providing direction and leadership on all activities within IT impacting your area.
2. Own tactical and strategic changes, such as migrating services from IBM Cloud to on-premise/Azure and phasing out legacy systems.
3. Investigate defects, incidents, and problems across environments, contributing to resolution efforts.
4. Ensure platforms meet current and future business service availability requirements.
5. Maintain operational effectiveness of relevant platforms in line with industry best practices and standards.
6. Oversee maintenance, patching, hardware & software updates, and upgrades adhering to security standards.

We need you to have

1. Experience leading an IT team.
2. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
3. Subject matter expertise in at least one key skill: UNIX, ADC (F5), IBM Cloud, Azure.
4. Experience with monitoring tools and frameworks, e.g., Dynatrace.
5. A growth mindset and proactive attitude toward learning new technologies.
6. Ability to work under challenging timescales and deliver as planned.
7. Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bonus if you have but not essential

1. Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
2. Experience in the Financial Services industry.
3. Willingness to join our 24/7 on-call rota.
