As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within IP Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. In this role, you will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, applying deep technical ability and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of opportunities spanning multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

• Work alongside existing product teams leveraging AI technologies to enhance the customer experience, drive efficiencies, and build innovative automation across the entire database product line.
• Provide engineering leadership to educate teams on effective AI usage, growing organizational AI capabilities.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability within existing systems.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new technologies.
• Contribute to team culture emphasizing equity and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications, data, cloud, and infrastructure architecture.
• Hands-on experience in Python programming.
• Understanding of AI, ML, and LLM concepts, with practical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of databases and database technologies.
• Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems; thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across teams.
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
