Job description

Expleo are currently recruiting for a number of experienced Vehicle Technicians including Technicians with experience in the following areas: Electrical, Connected Car, Vehicle Navigation, Vehicle Exhaust Emission & EV Range testing, and Vehicle Testing to join a leading Automotive Research and Development Team for a Global Automotive Manufacturer. Based close to Milton Keynes / Bedford, you will be working within a dedicated team of Test Technicians and Engineers on a contract basis.
This is not your everyday workshop environment, and you will be a key player in the test and development of future vehicles. The role involves preparation, building, and maintenance of vehicles or components for testing. Responsibilities include some of the following:

  1. Leading investigations into faults and/or performance issues
  2. Assembling / disassembling parts, components, or vehicles for static & dynamic test activities
  3. Vehicle Exhaust Emission & EV Range testing
  4. Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer operation
You will use various diagnostic software including CANalyzer.
To be considered for the Vehicle Technician roles, you will have knowledge, skills, and experience in some of the following areas:
  1. Educated to City & Guilds / BTEC / IMI / NVQ Level 3
  2. An understanding of vehicle disassembly, assembly, and maintenance techniques
  3. Vehicle system knowledge with the ability to fault find
  4. Electronic / Electrical background in automotive is desirable
  5. Understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools, e.g., CAN
  6. Experience with emissions/test systems such as Horiba or AVL
  7. Interest in the latest smartphones and applications
  8. Basic machining / fabrication experience is desirable but not essential
You will hold a valid driving licence and have the capability to travel.
