Senior/Principal C&I Engineer

Are you an experienced and motivated C&I Engineer ready to take on a leading role within the Nuclear Decommissioning & Waste Services division? A global leading engineering services and nuclear company is seeking a Senior/Principal C&I Engineer to join their dynamic team, contributing to the delivery of innovative engineering and waste management solutions for high-profile clients.

The Role: Senior/Principal C&I Engineer
As a Senior/Principal C&I Engineer, you will join an established EC&I team and take responsibility for the design and delivery of complex engineering solutions. You will act as a technical leader, managing design packages, mentoring team members, and ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines within the engineering group.

Key Responsibilities: Senior/Principal C&I Engineer

• Lead the development of complex design solutions, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, supporting calculations, and design justifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and present solutions during design reviews.
• Ensure all designs meet contractual, regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
• Support the development of less experienced engineers within the team.
• Review supplier documentation, validate design outputs, and oversee critical acceptance testing.

Key Requirements: Senior/Principal C&I Engineer

• Proven experience in the full engineering lifecycle, including design, integration, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports and justifications.
• Ability to drive new ideas and challenge conventional approaches.
• A focus on optimising methodologies and resource efficiency.
• Exceptional teamwork and communication skills to integrate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Instrumentation & Control Systems: PID control and system theory.
• Electrical Design: Circuit design, EMC precautions, and power supply characteristics.
• Safety Standards: Safety Integrity Levels (BS EN 61508/61511) and UKCA Marking.
• Automation: PLC programming and Fieldbus technologies (e.g., Profibus/Profinet).
• Machinery Safety: Compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
