Ganymede Solutions is partnering with a leading Rail Company to recruit an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer for their growing rolling stock consultancy business.

Role Overview

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will deliver best-in-class engineering solutions to clients in the rolling stock sector, including services to conventional rail, high speed, light rail, and metro clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead major project delivery and support bid work from technical and commercial perspectives.
2. Work directly with clients to deliver engineering solutions in fleet maintenance, overhaul/modification, obsolescence, reliability, performance, and systems design & build.
3. Provide engineering support services and technical consultancy such as investigations, design support, feasibility studies, RCA, technical specifications, component/system design, and asset improvements.
4. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, leading the technical engineering consultancy within client accounts.
5. Engage with clients confidently, discussing engineering problems and solutions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; Chartered status or working towards Chartership preferred.
• At least 10+ years in a technical engineering role.
• Experience with Engineering Change Assurance Processes & Documentation.
• Broad knowledge of electrical engineering & control systems, preferably within rolling stock, or similar sectors like transportation, aviation, maritime, nuclear, mining, automotive, or heavy machinery.
• Experience in systems design, integration, or assurance is highly desirable.
