Job Opportunity: Litigation Lawyer (Locum Contract)

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset to recruit a Litigation Lawyer for a 3-month locum contract.

Details:

• Part-time: 25 hours/week
• Hourly Rate: circa £60.00 (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage caseload and advise on litigation matters including homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions, anti-social behaviour, traveller encampments, regulatory prosecutions, and judicial review proceedings.
2. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, legal documents, and analyze cases.
3. Advise on education matters, especially challenges related to SEND and EHC Assessments.
4. Negotiate settlements and explore alternative dispute resolutions.
5. Advise on licensing schemes and enforcement work.
6. Provide guidance and supervision to junior Litigation team members.

Requirements:

• Experience in Local Government litigation is required.
