Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Projects Engineer (Fabrication) to join our clients dynamic team. Our client are an engineering company that specialise in Fabrication & Rental Services for the Oil and Gas industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in an energetic working environment, enjoys building relationships, and has a solid grounding in fabrication. This role is based in Insch, Aberdeenshire and is only available for candidates with a valid right to work in the UK.

The Role
As a Projects Engineer, you will be a vital link between projects and customers, ensuring that fabrication, vessel, and offshore scopes run smoothly and efficiently. From project kick-off to final delivery, you’ll oversee planning, interpreting fabrication drawings, and ensuring timelines are met while maintaining our commitment to quality and safety. You will work closely with fabrication and engineering teams, proactively solving problems and ensuring our high standards are upheld at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate project requirements.
  2. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to everyone involved to ensure the job runs smoothly.
  3. Interpret and work from detailed fabrication and mechanical engineering drawings.
  4. Identify and resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively.
  5. Maintain a strong focus on quality and on-time delivery, ensuring the job is delivered for the client how and when they need it.
  6. Build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners.
  7. Assist with the preparation of project documentation and reports.

About You
  1. Proven experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  2. Experience in identifying and implementing practical solutions to operational challenges.
  3. Confident in reading and interpreting fabrication and technical drawings.
  4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  5. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in an energetic setting.
  7. A team player with a “can-do” mindset.
  8. Ability to adapt and solve problems as they arise.

Qualifications & Experience
  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fabrication-based role.
