Starting Salary of £40,910 plus £6,710 London Weighting Allowance + £5,000 Market Force Supplement

About The Team

The Future Police Estate Programme aims to deliver modern, future-proof, secure and sustainable accommodation for policing within the square mile and to support the force's national portfolio, replacing outdated buildings that are no longer fit for purpose. The new accommodation will provide facilities for a diverse range of policing functions including a new headquarters building as part of the Salisbury Square development.

About The Role

The role will involve managing projects within the Future Police Estate Programme to ensure that the new facilities meet the operational requirements of the force. Projects will include the fit-out of new buildings with furniture and equipment, the relocation of staff from their existing locations to the new buildings, and the clearance and decommissioning of vacated buildings.

As a key member of the team, you’ll use your excellent project methodology and communication skills to identify and define requirements, agree and communicate project scope, and monitor and track project progress to ensure delivery of the required outputs to the specified quality, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and be responsible for the execution and successful delivery of projects as part of the City of London Police Future Police Estate Programme.
  • Ensure that the project produces the required outcomes within the specified tolerances of time, cost, and quality whilst managing scope and risk to achieve the benefits.
  • Develop, plan, and coordinate resources for allocated projects.
  • Demonstrate compliance with corporate project management, governance, financial, and procurement processes in line with the project procedure and gateway approval processes.
  • Facilitate project start-up activities to define scope, goals, and deliverables where necessary.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including project briefs, plans, risk registers, and reports for governance boards.
  • Develop effective communication strategies for each project to support successful delivery and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Requirements

We need you to have experience of:

  • Managing projects, ideally within the public sector and/or construction field.
  • Recognised and current qualification in Project methodologies or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Certifications in Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) & Management of Risk (M_o_R) or similar are desirable.
  • Working with senior management and stakeholders in large organizations, including planning and facilitating stakeholder engagement, collecting feedback, and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Managing concurrent projects with effective resource planning and management.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to diverse audiences.

Selection Process

Applicants will need to demonstrate how their experience, skills, and knowledge meet the person specification. The application and interview process will be based on Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework. Failing to address the criteria may result in disqualification.

The closing date for applications is Monday 23rd June 2025 at midday. Successful candidates will be invited for an interview during the week commencing 7th July 2025.
