Cyber Operations Specialist

Location: London

Contract: Permanent (Hybrid)

At QBE, our purpose is to enable a more resilient future.

We are an international insurer and reinsurer with a presence in 27 countries.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a talented Cyber Operations Specialist to join our Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) in London. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dual-focus role within a high-performing, supportive team dedicated to protecting our global operations.

You will bring technical expertise, curiosity, and a commitment to excellence to a role where no two days are the same, and your impact will be recognized and valued.

Your Role

This dual-focus role places you at the core of critical security operations:

  • Purple Team training exercises: plan, coordinate, and deliver these exercises, managing logistics, schedules, resources, and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective and impactful sessions.
  • Remediation efforts, Threat Hunting, and BAS: lead in tracking findings, prioritizing actions, and ensuring follow-through to address vulnerabilities and improve security posture.

You will also support daily operations, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with the Operations and Service Delivery Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Purple Team exercises: manage scheduling, logistics, resources, and documentation to align with security strategies.
  • Manage remediation efforts: oversee actions from exercises, threat hunting, and BAS, collaborating with risk teams and stakeholders to close vulnerabilities and track improvements.
  • Support service delivery and operations: handle change requests, monitor KPIs, support governance, assist in post-incident reviews, and maintain audit documentation.
About You

Ideal candidates will have a strong cybersecurity background, experience with tools like JIRA and Power BI, and preferably qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH. Your mindset should be organized, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

This role may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate global teams across different time zones. We value flexibility and adaptability.

Skills Required:
  • Cybersecurity knowledge, including Purple Teaming, Threat Hunting, and BAS
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA and Power BI
  • Project coordination, risk management, and remediation tracking skills
  • Knowledge of Agile or similar frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
