Job description

Salary

PSV Electrician

We are looking for an experienced PCV Electrician to join our Peterhead team.

  • Typical annual earnings of £19.98 per hour

  • Guaranteed minimum of 45 hours, with overtime potentially available

You’ll be part of a team maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring our customers can travel safely and comfortably daily to healthcare, employment, shopping, leisure, and visiting friends and family.

Aside from the satisfaction of being a key worker, there are many reasons to join the Stagecoach Bluebird team:

  • Great benefits including a generous pension scheme, 28 days of holiday (increasing to 33 after 2 years), free travel for you and a companion, financial education, affordable loans, and discounts on holidays, retail, cinema, dental insurance, vehicle breakdown cover, hotels, and attractions.

  • Free travel for you and a companion on our buses—perfect for shopping, city visits, or seaside trips without parking or fuel worries.

  • Training — no prior experience with our vehicles or buses is necessary, as we will provide comprehensive training and support.

  • Varied work — some tasks involve being out on the road dealing with vehicle issues, not just depot-based work. We're investing heavily in electric vehicles and infrastructure, offering engaging opportunities.

  • Job security — as a key community worker, your role is vital for our fleet, including brands like Alexander Dennis, Scania, Volvo, and Optare.

  • A safe environment — we provide boots, overalls, and specialist equipment to ensure your safety and protection.

  • UK-wide opportunities — if you move, you can transfer to a different location within our national network.

  • Career development — develop technical skills on hybrid and electric vehicles, with potential progression to Technician, Master Technician, Engineering Manager, and beyond. Many of our Directors started as mechanics and fitters.

  • Secondment opportunities — work on big events like Silverstone or Cheltenham Festival, or in head office support roles.

  • Employee assistance program — confidential 24/7 support for health, wellbeing, stress, financial, legal, or personal issues, including face-to-face counseling, phone, and online support.

  • A great working environment — make new friends, work with dedicated managers, and participate in employee networks promoting inclusivity for women, veterans, carers, multicultural, and LGBTQ+ colleagues.

The recruitment process is straightforward: apply with your CV, attend an interview, and tour the depot!

We need the following from you:

  • An engineering background with a focus on vehicular electrics — experience with buses, HGV/LGV, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, or farming equipment is valued.

  • A desire to deliver high standards in engineering, proactive maintenance, and repairs.

  • Own your own standard toolbox; workshop tools will be provided.

If you meet these criteria and are interested, we encourage you to apply below!
