The role also offers a technical framework allowance and disruption allowance, which you can apply for once your training is complete and you meet the technical criteria. By your second year as a fully trained property specialist, you may earn £53,524, excluding overtime or on-call payments.
Flexible working: This role is primarily office-based. Once qualified, some flexibility or compressed hours may be considered depending on training and business needs.

The Role
As a Maintenance Carpenter, you will maintain, repair, and construct within secure facilities, including infrastructure hardening and bespoke spaces. Responsibilities include creating technical drawings, selecting materials, and adhering to strict security protocols.
Occasionally, you may be deployed within the UK on intelligence operations, utilizing your trade skills for national security.
This mostly Monday to Friday role may involve early starts, occasional late work, short-term travel, and overseas deployments. Overtime and on-call payments are available.
About You
You should have a City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent in Carpentry and Joinery, and be comfortable with hand and power tools. A full UK driving license, physical fitness, basic IT skills, and report writing skills are required. You should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, proactive approach, and problem-solving skills.
Training and Development
Initial training lasts at least 6 months, combining in-house and external courses. You will be mentored and have a clear training pathway with milestones. Further external training will support your career growth.

Starting salary: £42,798, rising to £46,268 after one year. Additional allowances and potential earnings of up to £53,524 with overtime and on-call pay.
