Job description

Homeless Prevention Coordinator – London

iPeople SC Solutions is recruiting a Homeless Prevention Coordinator for our client based in the City of Westminster, Greater London.

This service is to work specifically and directed by Housing Needs on the reduction of clients who are currently occupying high cost nightly booked TA accommodation. The team will work under the direction of the existing Head of Accommodation to enable move on of clients out of this TA to alternative provision.

Exceptional customer care skills that are delivered through a compassionate and empathy focused approach through all contacts with clients and applicants.

  • Experienced in the provision of advice and assistance on homelessness and prevention.
  • Experienced in the encouragement and support offered to service-users to seek professional and medical help where appropriate.
  • Can work in a ‘mindful’ way to ensure the customer journey and client experience is the main focus through all contact and work that the team delivers.
  • Can work consistently as part of a team, take direction, and understand the essential aspects of working together as one team to achieve the targeted approach to this work.
  • Experienced and a comprehensive background working in Homelessness and the legal aspects of this work, including housing duty investigations and applications, decisions and duties owed to an applicant in accordance with Part VII Housing Act 1996, 184 decisions and investigations, TA suitability and s202 reviews, decision and non-priority need decisions, process management of all aspects in these areas of homelessness management, legal evictions, and understanding support for those in financial crisis.
  • Experience working and forming effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders which may include partner organisations internal and external to Westminster such as Family Services, Adult Social Care, Domestic Violence professionals, Police, Housing Benefits, Neighbourhood Teams, Home Office, Landlords, Solicitors, etc.
  • Working and following best practice and in line with all relevant legislation.
  • Working as part of the team, provide recommendations to improve overall service delivery, focused on outputs and outcomes as directed by the Manager of the service.
