Position: Towbar and Service Mechanic

Location: Crawley

Company: National Automotive Towbar and Trailer Fitting Service Provider

Salary: £27,000 per annum plus sales bonus (paid quarterly) based on targets

Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week, no weekends)

Experience Required: Previous experience with vehicle mechanics/electrics is essential (formal qualifications not required). A full UK driving licence is mandatory.

Job Overview:

Our client, a National Automotive Towbar and Trailer Fitting Service Provider, is seeking a skilled Towbar and Service Mechanic to join their Crawley branch. This role involves fitting towbars and servicing trailers while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to Health and Safety regulations. You will work closely with the Branch Team to achieve sales and meet customer and trade demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Towbar Installation: Accurately fit towbars to customer vehicles, ensuring all pre-existing marks/scratches are recorded, and handle all customer property with respect.
  2. Trailer Servicing: Service and repair customer trailers and the company’s hire fleet within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  3. Workshop Maintenance: Keep the workshop clean and organised, maintain tools and equipment in good working order, and report issues promptly.
  4. Compliance: Stay updated with the latest towbar fitting instructions and adhere to all Health & Safety policies, including proper use of PPE.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service records for the hire fleet and assist with stock takes as needed.
  6. Additional Duties: Assist in trailer assembly and modification, provide technical advice, and perform other reasonable tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
  • Interest and experience in vehicle mechanics and electrics.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Willingness to undergo training, including Forklift Truck operation.
