Higher Level Teaching Assistant | ASAP

Location: Muswell Hill

Part-Time: 2.5 days per week, flexible days

Are you an experienced and creative Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a new role? If so, we want to hear from you!

Teach Plus is currently working with one of the largest schools in the area, seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The primary school is committed to supporting children in reaching high academic standards and believes in fostering high ambitions for all students.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading and delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
2. Supporting pupils with diverse needs, including SEN, EAL, and those requiring additional academic or behavioral support
3. Collaborating with teachers to plan, prepare, and assess learning activities
4. Providing targeted interventions and small group support to close attainment gaps

Candidate requirements:

1. HLTA status or relevant qualification (e.g., Level 4 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
2. Extensive experience working with children with Autism
3. Ability to lead whole-class lessons in the absence of the teacher
4. Experience supporting children with demand avoidance
5. A calming approach when managing challenging behavior
