Key responsibilities / functions:
- Act as on-site technical & Commissioning lead, obtaining the required technical information to support the Application and Engineering teams, and lead the technical on-site activities through design, installation, deployment, and Testing & Commissioning phases.
- Lead technical discussions and clarifications with the customer, acting as the key contact for all technical topics. Support engineering deliverables development under Project Manager and Application Manager leadership through continuous communication and regular technical status reports. Participate in meetings with the customer, consultants, contractors, and commissioning agents. Prepare and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with the customer.
- Plan labour requirements and lead testing and commissioning activities, including Local Hardware Settings, Field RTU Settings and Configurations, Point-to-Point tests, Functional tests, and Integrated System Tests, liaising with testing consultants, main contractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Work closely with the PM and team members to ensure timelines are met, and that testing activities and documentation meet customer standards and SE Quality policy.
- Support submittal preparations and obtain customer approval for basic and detailed designs of integrated solutions, in line with contractual, technical, time, and performance requirements.
- Work independently and collaboratively with global teams, complying with international standards.
- Support engineering outputs such as system architecture, technical submissions for hardware/software, sub-systems interfacing points, detailed point schedules, control panel drawings, equipment and control valve schedules, operational descriptions, and test scripts. Collaborate with global and site teams to produce engineering submittals based on approved designs.
- Review and validate technical choices for compliance with the design (based on the Technical Design Process).
- Possess knowledge in Programmable Logic Controller, SCADA, and DDC Controllers (preferably Schneider brand) development and implementation for HVAC systems, including chiller systems.
- Have knowledge of HVAC applications such as Chiller Systems, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil units, and others, including electrical and fire alarm systems.
- Ensure proper documentation handling, including RFIs, design, engineering, commissioning documentation, and operating manuals, in line with project requirements.
- Assist the project manager in tracking project status and progress, updating internal and external teams regularly.
- Collaborate with project teams, consultants, vendors, and Schneider Electric leaders to understand project milestones and contribute to project profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in overall project management by ensuring good execution within budget, identifying risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Identify potential changes versus contract or design, work with the Project Manager on scope and cost implications, and contribute to project margin improvements.
- Master the technical aspects of subcontracted deliverables, ensuring effective scope definition and progress monitoring.
- Report any technical feasibility issues promptly and provide necessary updates to the PM and management.
Preferred Architectures:
Schneider EBO BMS, PSO SCADA, PME SCADA, Citec SCADA, Wonderware System Platform, Ignition, Rockwell.
Qualifications:
- University Bachelor / Master Engineering Degree
- Effective communication skills in oral and written English; additional languages valuable
- 5+ years leading technical projects or as Solution Application Engineer for large, international projects
- 10+ years in HVAC and chiller control systems, BMS, Power monitoring systems, etc.
- Knowledge of data center and mission-critical facility operations and maintenance
- Proven leadership in managing diverse technical teams
- Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules
- Concise communication of complex technical issues
- Decision-making skills in complex contexts with incomplete information
- Ability to quickly learn new BMS/EMS platforms
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Effective relationship-building with customers and colleagues
- Willingness to travel approximately 80% for training and business needs
