Location: 164-178 Cromwell Hospital, Cromwell Road, London SW5 0TU

Permanent / Contract: Bank Shifts

Salary range: £25 per hour

The Outpatient Pharmacy service is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 8.30pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 2.30pm.

As an Outpatient Pharmacist at Bupa, your patients will be your top priority. With no shareholders, we reinvest our profits back into our business to give you the extra time and technology you need to make a difference to our patients each day.

Reporting to the Lead Pharmacist and working with the wider department team, you will provide first-class service to our Outpatients customers, staff, and healthcare professionals, including preparing discharge packs, prescriptions, providing counselling, promoting the safe use of medicines, and other related services.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Abiding by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical, and legal obligations.
  • Ensuring that the Outpatient Pharmacy service is patient-focused, responsive, and appropriate, and maintaining the professional image of the department.
  • Working in the Outpatient pharmacy by undertaking responsibilities required of a Responsible Pharmacist, including ensuring medicines are dispensed legally, accurately, and efficiently, with appropriate clinical checks.
  • Providing counselling and information to patients regarding their medicines, including counselling on use and counter-prescribing if necessary.
  • Providing professional leadership within the pharmacy, ensuring all practice aligns with the latest standards issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and GPhC.
  • Meeting individual patient needs and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Participating in clinical pharmacy services as appropriate.

What you’ll bring:

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC
  • Experience managing a pharmacy and team
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts between 08:30-20:00
  • Ability to cover on-call, evening, and weekend services
  • Minimum of two years post-registration experience
  • Desirable: hospital and clinical experience with knowledge of Ascribe
