We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, well-mannered AV Venue Technician to help us and our customers provide seamless life events. Working with venue operations staff alongside our internal creative and technical teams, you will run the day-to-day events and ensure all equipment is maintained in good operational condition within our venues. You will provide training and support on site through the initial weeks of operation of these new facilities, to ensure the site team have confidence in operating the new systems/products we have implemented.
We are the UK market leader in our field, with a professional delivery team. We require your professional events and technical experience, ability to think on your feet, and readiness to handle fast-changing, sometimes difficult situations.
You will need to live within commuting distance of Sheffield, ideally.
Key Responsibilities
- Train site staff on how to operate day-to-day services and basic system operations
- Ensure the smooth operation of AV events at the venue
- Schedule maintenance tasks for AV equipment
- Work with the internal creative team to ensure content is tested and delivered in the correct event formats
- Resolve problems dynamically as issues arise
- Document issues and feedback for future solution development
- Communicate with venue operations staff and customers about service elements and demonstrate equipment/product functionalities to support future sales
- Assist project producers/product managers in developing packages within the trial venue
- Provide feedback to developers, testers, delivery managers, and customer support to manage improvements and new products
- Support the launch of new features and product improvements through various teams
- Assist with Change Management for impacted stakeholders
- Identify risks and issues effectively
- Support the wider team on less busy site days
- Maintain communication with stakeholders across the business
- Be proactive and hands-on within a small, fast-moving team
Required Experience
- Prior AV experience, particularly in Video & Projection, including end-to-end projects, system setup, user training, and troubleshooting
- Experience documenting procedures and training others
- Basic video editing, presentation creation, and Photoshop skills
Required Skills
- Proactive and resourceful with quick issue identification and practical solutions development
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home within the UK, support for new sites for up to 3 months, with weekends at home
- Full UK driving license
