What you'll do:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for painting full sized vehicles with very minimal defects
* Perform preventive maintenance on paint equipment
* Identify and spot repair paint defects in accordance with appearance specification
* Verify cleaning chemical concentrations
* Pre-treat and prep cabs and parts for paint
* Spray base coat and clear coat
* Mix tints following a formula to match paint codes
* Maintain accurate documentation of paint codes
* Coordinate material movement within the paint area
* Load and unload parts on racking or carts per process documentation
* Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area
* Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required by a particular area
* Self-check work and inspect prior processes
* Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
* Meet production goals
* Maintain a clean and safe work area
* Initiate process improvements
* Support 5S in work area
* Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
* Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
* Know various customer vehicles and trucks
* Ability to mask multiple color units & train FAP Paint
* Undercoat
* Paint Touch Up
* Wheel Alignment

What you need to be successful:

QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma or GED required (Automotive paint certification or vocational
schoolcertificate preferred)
* Minimum 1-2 years Automotive paint experience
* Excellent attendance
* Positive attitude
* Strong and consistent attention to detail
* Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
* Team oriented
* Basic computer skills are required
* No critical shortcomings on last performance review
* Demonstrated understanding of Paint materials and cleaning
chemicals
* Vocational training for automotive finishing, preferred

ABLE
TO:

Tolerate very high heat temperatures, high dust, and exposure to
chemicals
* Work overtime on short notice
* Wear PPE respirators for extended amount of time
* Improve self / area / company (including pursuing
additional training, if needed)
* Develop a working knowledge of company's systems (example: AS/400)
