Arden University seeks an Event Manager for the Centre for Academic Persistence to oversee student orientation activities and enhance the student experience. This role involves event planning, staff management, and budget oversight, ensuring successful outcomes for new students.

This role operates a hybrid working model that will require some travel into our Coventry head office or various campuses for events. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.
Travel will be required into the following locations:

About our Department:Our Centre for Academic Persistence is focussed on helping and supporting students through their first-year university journey. We are a large team who are passionate about supporting students realise their potential. We do this through several different programmes including our Foundation Year; supporting the CertHE programme; our On Track initiative for students with level-progression support or assistance resitting or retaking modules; Pass First Time (Academic study skills to help pass courses) and the university new student orientation.
About the Opportunity:The Event Manager for the Centre for Academic Persistence will ensure the smooth running and professionalism of any academic persistence initiatives in the Centre including new student orientation activities for all new Arden University students in the UK (Blended Learning and Distance learning, approximately 10,000 students per year). The post holder will ensure that these activities are innovative, student-centred, and a celebration of student success and achievement. You will beresponsible for fulfilling any of the centre’s other persistence activities which involve event planning, running and analysis. They will work alongside the Centre’s key leaders in the planning and delivery of new student orientation activities and events with a view of enhancing the student experience and identifying ways to improve the current systems and processes. You will beresponsible for supporting budget planning, contributing to, and implementing a new student orientation strategy with the Director of the Centre for Academic Persistence, that complements the wider aims and objectives of the university. The role is also responsible for student and staff management, internal and external suppliers, host management, logistics, print and communications
