POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Engineer - Electrical reports to the Assistant Managers and is primarily responsible for delivering 1st fix electrical maintenance requests via the Helpdesk, scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance, and health & safety duties across the resort. The role also requires general maintenance tasks as directed by management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Respond to requests from management and departments to assess and repair faults related to HVAC, lighting, small power issues, and plumbing.
- Install additional electrical circuits as needed.
- Maintain standby generators and life safety systems.
- Perform and record regular Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
- Conduct health & safety schedules, including emergency lighting tests, descaling taps/showers, and emergency/lighting checks.
- Monitor water system temperatures as per Water Risk Assessments.
- Test fire alarms, check fire equipment, record meter readings, and operate generators.
- Carry out Legionella control testing, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), and emergency lighting tests.
- Take ownership of assigned emergency evacuation roles.
- Maintain accurate records for reporting purposes in communication with management.
- Perform other general tasks to support departmental workflow.
Qualification Standards:
- Eligible to work in the UK (essential).
- Time-served Electrician, preferably with 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (essential).
- Ability to carry out PAT (preferred).
- Understanding of HVAC systems.
- Good knowledge of electrical distribution systems (essential).
- Experience with Building Management Systems.
- Familiarity with system drawings, manuals, and procedures.
- Proficient with hand tools, electrical tools, and testing equipment (essential).
- Fire Warden training (preferred).
- Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and practices.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Experience in maintenance environments, preferably in hotels.
- Flexible working pattern over 7 days.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team.
- Good time management skills.
- Competency in IT systems (essential).
- Driving license (essential).
- Awareness of Energy Management principles.
