Here at Skipton Building Society, we are proud to have a team of amazing people who work hard every day to put our customers' best interests at heart.
We are currently looking for a Branch Manager to lead, motivate, and drive performance. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering exceptional service to our customers at our Bournemouth branch.
Not just another building society. Not just another job.
We are the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We do not have shareholders; we are owned by our members.
Our colleagues say Skipton Building Society is a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.
Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we will help you take the next step towards a better future.
Our branches are the heart of our local communities; however, increasingly, our customers want the flexibility of doing transactions online and engaging with us via our contact centre. In-branch, we support our customers face-to-face, virtually, and by outbound contact, reaching our customers at relevant times. Whether promoting a new product or resolving a problem, you will always place our customers' needs at the heart of everything you do and provide first-class service every time.
For our customers, you will be more than just the friendly face and voice of Skipton Building Society. You will be a listener, a problem solver, and over time, a fountain of knowledge to help them achieve their financial goals.
Together, you can help us build a better Society!
The Branch Manager will lead a team of customer-facing colleagues, promoting high standards of customer service and ensuring they deliver an exceptional experience to all customers. We are looking for an individual who can inspire a team, engage them, and create a culture of high performance.
Taking ownership of the branch contribution plan, you will focus on commercial growth as well as maintaining relationships with existing customers. You will ensure your team confidently promotes our products and services during their conversations with customers through observations, one-to-ones, and clear objectives linked to the branch plan.
This is a hands-on role that requires exceptional people skills and proven leadership experience. In return, we will provide you with development opportunities to make a real difference to your team and our customers.
The role involves leading from the front and by example, including interacting with customers daily, serving customers, and undertaking 'My Review' appointments.
We are entering an exciting new chapter for our Bournemouth branch with a scheduled full refit in 2025, bringing modern facilities and a renewed commitment to excellent service.
You will be an accomplished leader with experience in a management role within a customer-facing environment. This will include:
You do not need to be an expert in financial services; while experience helps, we welcome applications from candidates with the right skills and experience to deliver a great customer and colleague experience.
The position is permanent, with a 36-hour workweek across Monday to Saturday to support operating hours.
The salary is up to £45,900 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
