Join Our Team as a Civil Enforcement Officer

At Bath & North East Somerset Council, we have one overriding purpose: to improve people’s lives.

This post offers a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade, payable upon successful completion of your probationary period, subject to eligibility criteria.

As a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO), you'll be the friendly, uniformed face of the council, helping visitors and residents with parking queries and directions, while also playing a key role in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

This is an exciting outdoor role for someone who enjoys working outside and has the commitment, passion, and drive to help an enthusiastic team deliver a high-quality service.

What You’ll Do:

• Patrol streets to enforce parking rules
• Advise the public on parking queries
• Issue penalty notices for parking violations
• Inspect and report on Pay and Display machines
• Record information using handheld devices and radios

What We’re Looking For:

• Friendly, polite, and customer-focused
• Physically fit (able to walk up to 10 miles per day)
• Comfortable using technology (handheld devices, radios, cameras)
• Able to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
