Financial Analysis Consultant (Hybrid)

Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

Hybrid – Work a weekly schedule with some in-office days and some days remote.

Your role in the team

The Financial Consultant analyzes and communicates financial results for key products, markets, and initiatives. They develop compelling storylines to help deepen client insights and recommend creative actions to guide strategy and operations. This role formulates financial projections to support performance prediction, tracking, and diagnosing potential issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide accurate, timely reports with financial insights to enable business partners to improve performance.
  2. Innovate and collaborate with the wider team, including US and NI-based members.
  3. Implement, report, and communicate the impact of business and accounting initiatives on assigned processes and financial statements.
  4. Prepare analytical schedules, analyze variances, and support internal customer requests with analysis.
  5. Manage monthly close processes, develop analyses (e.g., account analysis, journal entries).
  6. Identify key drivers, quantify impacts, and forecast implications, understanding how data points interrelate.
  7. Consult with leadership to understand the business implications of current trends.
  8. Suggest process improvements related to all assignments.
  9. Develop and lead presentations for small groups.

Essential Skills

  • Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided.
  • A 2:1 degree in Finance or a related field OR at least 2 years' experience in a Finance/Accountancy role.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with MS Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PowerBI.

Desirable Skills

  • First Class degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of control environments and SOX compliance.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role has no supervisory duties.
