Senior Support Worker (House 7) Ref HR0068

£18,077 - £19,247 depending on experience

Sue Ryder Dee View Court in Kincorth, Aberdeen, is Scotland's only purpose-built specialist neurological centre providing care for people with complex neurological conditions, including Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, and acquired brain injuries.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker for our Supported Living services. This role involves 37.5 hours per week, with various shifts including weekends, on a rotational basis.

Dee View Court has expanded from 22 to 36 bedrooms and now includes seven supported living apartments, increasing our capacity to care for up to 44 residents.

The successful candidate will care for two residents in supported accommodation.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide personal care tailored to individual needs, including manual handling, bathing, shaving, dressing, and toileting.
2. Administer medication according to policies, including logging, checking, and recording drugs securely.
3. Support tenants with laundry and cleaning to maintain a homely environment compliant with health and safety legislation.
4. Plan and prepare meals as needed.
5. Escort and support tenants in the community for various activities, including preparations for outings.
6. Record activity details and communicate relevant information to staff.

Our supported living services enable individuals to live as independently as possible in adapted homes suited to their needs.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual committed to helping people reach their full potential while managing complex health conditions. Flexibility to cover early and late shifts, nights, weekends, and public holidays on a rota is essential. Experience in a similar environment is preferred, along with an SVQ Level 3 or willingness to undertake it. Comprehensive induction and training will be provided.
